Losing a job for taking a picture while “on the clock” was a pretty good indicator for what I should choose as a career path. Yet I did not make that choice for another 2 jobs & 7 years. The picture that led me down this path is the B&W image of Adam Clayton of U2.
Presently and for the past 10 years I have made my living as a commercial photographer in the New York/New Jersey tri-state area, specializing in high-end jewelry. My work has been published in magazines ranging from Sports Illustrated to Vogue. None of that work is featured here. What you see here is a collection of images which are the result of life experiences and freelance work.
I am never without my camera and have a constant need to capture the beauty of my surroundings. My subject matter has no bounds. I find the most joy in following the master Henri Cartier-Bresson and trying to capture “the decisive moment”. But at times I find myself having to capture the beauty of rusty gears and chains found in a neighbor’s garage. Or the jagged edges of scrap metal sculpted by a blow torch.
Life is Art.
